Just one though.
If you're like me, it's been one of those bummer days. Wendy Wasserstein died.
I read about the latest fire in South Africa's beleaguered Fynbos World Heritage Site, a place I've always wanted to visit. I always wanted to visit New Orleans too.
Some kind of dust-up in DC too, I gather.
And the thought of Bush babbling, giggling, and gesticulating at random tomorrow night is already making me ill.
(Over. It wouldn't quite fit.)
So I'm looking for a laugh, and found it in West Australia, of all places. Turns out they're as crazy as we are:
Government bans denim in schools. I understand the argument for standard school uniforms and even think it makes some sense. But they're not doing that. Just banning denim. You've got to love the reasoning.
State Education Minister Ljiljanna Ravlich says denim is associated with "having a good time" and has no place in primary or secondary schools.
Heavens! We wouldn't want students associating school with enjoyment, would we? Maybe it's the whole English-speaking world that's screwed up. Maybe it's all of us.
