Campaign Strategy: Reality vs Blogality

The news hit that Dean called Clark a R.  GASP!  All kos land broke out into raging chaos, Clarkies vs Deanistas, no one was spared, there were bits and bytes and ones and zeros all over the virtual floor.

I have to laugh, because it's another example of the disconnect between the real world and the inward-pointing self-referential world of blogging.

Who CARES if this comment causes anguish on the kos blog?

The real question is, for Dean supporters especially, is this an effective campaign strategy?  Will it work?  Does he make these comments from a position of strength, or is it a sign of seeing Clark and others in his rear view mirror, closer than they appear?  Is Dean trying a bunch of stuff, seeing what will stick?

If this works, should Dean start saying that Bush is really a Democrat?  Larf!
