"Saddam was unfinished business from the September 10th world."
Mark Steyn, conservative British-born columnist who bloviates for the Wash Times and National Review among others, utters these words on NPR interview show "The Connection" around 11:30pm CST.
Can't take on Al-Qaeda before we've taken care of that unfinished business, can we? Russian democracy, anyone? Loose nukes, anyone? North Korea, anyone?
Later, oozing the disdain for those who might have the temerity to disagree with him as only Brits of a certain class seem capable of, Steyn illustrates how slanted Iraq coverage is with the following anecdote from his one and only Iraq junket in June 2003(!!!!):
"I rented a beat up Nissan which was all that was available at the airport there and drove myself all around Iraq. 5/6ths of the country is perfectly peaceful. When the IRA were bombing Londonderry, London was after all a perfectly pleasant place. This is what Iraq is like. I drove through Fullujah..."
Here he begins to channel Bertie Wooster -- "a rum bunch of coves to be sure but nothing Jeeves and the US Military can't take care of."
Stunning performance.
