I have been trying to keep up with all the reports and diaries here posted about this People's Movement and something I noticed keeps popping up. Just because the MSM is finally taking notice, does not mean that credit or creditability goes to the other groups (aka middle class) starting to support this movement.
These young people are actually bringing together both unions and disparate groups and individualists to do something about the issues. This is a true grassroots Peoples Movement not some political funded astroturf group. They deserve our respect and admiration because they are the ones bringing us together. And, (a big And) they are doing it in a peaceful, nonviolent (both physically and verbally) civil way. They are the ones maintaining a true democratic process model and they are putting their bodies in harms way. (True, its not Egypt, Syria, Bahrain, but thats actually one of the good things about this country. -They are not getting shot at by snipers or their homes and family destroyed or tortured.) And its up to us to prevent that from happening.
I know that the unions that are left have been around for a long time and have been fighting for their rights the whole time - that deserves respect, but some of their weaknesses are infighting, politics and protectionism for their particular group. They tend to forget about the millions of people that have no protection, especially in these "Right to Work" states. (An oxymoron if there ever was one.) Which brings me around to my original point. This People's Movement is bridging that gap and we will all be smart to join in/or support them anyway we can. They are our future and deserve our respect regardless of how pundits and MSM spin their version of a story.
Here is a list of groups in support of OcccupyWallStreet. This list has tripled since the last time I posted it. Its growing so fast that the website people are having a hard time keeping up with the incoming information. Take a look at some of the conservative cities and states listed here. And mine is here too. (Jumping up and down in joy....)
