It would appear that reports of Occupy Wall Street slowing down were greatly exaggerated:
- Some good news from Occupy Oakland today. Scott Olsen, the Iraq war veteran who was shot in the head with a police projectile, has had his condition upgraded to "fair." He is also now breathing on his own.
- Mayor Jean Quan issued a statement promising to minimize the police presence at future Occupy Oakland events. She is also expected to attend the Occupy Oakland general assembly tonight.
- MoveOn will run an ad in Oakland calling out Mayor Quan for the excessive police force used against protesters:
- Police punched protesters at the Occupy Oakland solidarity march in New York City last night:
- Solidarity vigils and marches for Occupy Oakland are being held at Occupy encampments around the country. There is even one Cairo.
- Occupy Oakland also passed a resolution in favor of a city-wide general strike on Nov. 2. It is an intriguing development that is worth watching, but it does not seem like an actual strike. There are no demands, it will only last for a day, and it was not called for in consultation with the workers in the city.
