This week, on KFTK's The Dana Show and on her blog at Big Government, TeaNN "contributor" Dana Loesch falsely accused Van Jones of being a "cop-killer supporter, a Marxist, and a 9/11 Truther" while defending the highly partisan right-wing organization ALEC, which is responsible for the toxic policies such as Arizona's Xenophobic SB1070, Rick Snyder's power grab of certain cities and towns in Michigan, the NRA/GOoA-backed "stand your ground" laws, and a bunch more.
From the 04.05.2012 edition of KFTK's The Dana Show:
Crooks and Liars's Karoli says it makes CNN's already shoddy cred even worse.
It was only a matter of time before people got wise to ALEC. It's just too bad it's taken as much time as it has. But after the Trayvon Martin case and subsequent linkage of ALEC to the Stand Your Ground laws, it's starting to get enough attention to cause the Coca-Cola company to withdraw their corporate sponsorship of the organization, thanks to a Color of Change campaign to draw their attention to ALEC's efforts to disenfranchise Black voters nationwide.
This victory has made Dana Loesch very, very angry. So angry that she lit into Van Jones on her radio show Thursday, despite the fact that Van Jones has not been at the helm of Color of Change for some time. According to Media Matters, Dana went on a rant against Van Jones over the ALEC action, calling him a "Marxist, 911 Truther, Cop Killer-Supporter".
DanaBusted.blogspot.com, which is one of my blogs, also
rebuts Loesch for what she is: a liar who will twist the facts to suit her own fascistic agenda.
Yet another day of Dana Loesch suggesting a boycott of anything that doesn't cave into the right-wing agenda and whining on twitter about "'liberals' bullying businesses.". In her post at Big Government, she also falsely accused Van Jones of being a "9/11 Truther" and a "supporter of cop-killers."
Who's doing the cyber-bullying now? It certainly is NOT Van Jones or Color of Change, but Loesch and the rest of the RWNJ brigade that's doing it. And the "Voter ID" laws (really voter suppression laws) are indeed targeted at groups likely to vote Democratic, such as African-Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, the poor, college students, and the disabled.
NewsCorpse also calls her out for the 1% shill that she is.
This citizen-driven movement is effective because free people in democratic societies are entitled to express themselves and redress their grievances with public and private institutions that have an impact on their lives. However, some rightist defenders of the ruling elite are appalled that ordinary citizens have found a way to join together and make their concerns heard. One of those is Breitbart editor Dana Loesch, who had this to say on her radio show in response to Coke’s announcement:
“Coca-Cola decided to side with an admitted Marxist, 9/11 truther, cop-killer supporter [...] This is the guy whose company Coca-Cola is siding with. This is what happens. Progressives will target businesses and try to shut them down if they support those who are telling the truth. It’s a fascistic movement. Fascism is alive and well in the United States on the left.”
The alleged Marxist to whom Loesch is referring is Van Jones and her allegations are verifiably untrue. Jones is a firm believer in the ability of free markets to empower people and advance the goals of the American dream. In fact, he wrote the book on it. He never supported the 9/11 truth movement and even proved the allegation to be false. And his efforts on behalf of Mumia Abu-Jamal cannot be portrayed as supporting a cop-killer if the evidence shows that Abu-Jamal is innocent. Abu-Jamal’s death sentence was rescinded last year in a case that went all the way to the Supreme Court. Also, Jones left Color of Change over two years, so Loesch’s attempt to associate him with this campaign is merely her way of trying to demonize the organization by associating it with a public figure who is hated by right-wingers because of their prior and continuing efforts to demonize him.
