Sen. Ted Cruz's immigrant dad was crooked law-breaker, which is almost as bad as being a senator

Tsk. It turns out Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) comes from a family steeped in crime, it's no wonder he turned out like he did:

In a report Thursday on NPR about how Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) father shaped his vision on immigration, his father, Rafael Bienvenido Cruz, an immigrant from Cuba, said that while he “came to this country legally,” he basically bribed an official to get to the United States.

“A friend of the family -- a lawyer friend of my father basically bribed a Batista official to stamp my passport with an exit permit,” the elder Cruz said.

You monster. I think this just goes to show that people who thwart the normal system for deciding who gets to enter the country go on to have no-good kids who grow up and become senators or something. The Republicans tried to warn us, but we just wouldn't listen.
