Not much of a diary, but I'm guessing my sentiments are shared by more people than a mere comment in a semi-random DK diary would warrant.
I've had it with fund-raising requests from the DNC. I completely unsubscribed. Not just the link that says "want to receive only the most important messages" -- because I already did that last year, and I still get way too many fund-raising appeals from them. I unsubscribed completely. The link has the dire (?) warning/guilt-trip that "if you leave, it will be harder for you to stay involved in the organization that you've been such a critical part of," but tough twinkies, and I don't believe that, anyway.
I'm not worried, there are myriad ways I can stay involved, and giving money via email spam is not one of them. Oh, our politicians promoted their self-interest by a law stipulating that when they send out unsolicited bulk emails (UBE) it not spam, by definition. Wtf. Yes, it is, too. I did not opt in, the emails are unsolicited, they are bulk and they are email; ergo they are spam.
I'm fed up with money-grabbing requests coming from Tim Kaine, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Donna Brazile, DNC HQ, Amy K. Dacey (who?), and others. I'm fed up with the President and First Lady's name being stuck onto email fund-raising requests from the DNC -- often stupid, insipid emails that begin with "Hey!" -- as if that lack of gravitas is a discourse I'd want any American President to use. I'm annoyed by requests from random out-of-state candidates who obviously just bought my email address from some mass list and have no idea who I am or where I even vote. I'm fed up with my volunteer labor being taken for granted by Beltway operatives, who give nothing back (especially to LDs they don't think are 'winnable' in the current election -- as if that was all that matters). I'm fed up with the corporate wing of DINO's who voted five times to try and block Howard Dean from becoming DNC Chair in 2005. I'm fed up with sell-out, high-ranking (odious) Democrats listening to Wall Street instead of Main Street and being more concerned with their own financial advancement than with the public interest.
I have and will continue to vote Democratic and to work for Democratic organizations and candidates who I believe share my values and policy preferences. This isn't some 'gbcw' diary -- to the contrary, I'm more supportive than ever of various Democrats and the the democratic wing of the Democratic Party.
Not a big deal, really -- I never read those emails, anyway, and never sent them money online. I contribute my time and give locally, occasionally I give to further afield races that I believe in, but I don't need an email to solicit money from me, I'm perfectly capable of identifying those races and how to fund them, myself. Unsubscribing from the DNC led me to unsubscribing from a number of other money-grubbing groups, as well -- it feels refreshing. :-)
I'm curious how many other Kossacks feel the same way.

Update: Jon Stewart's hysterical reaction to Democrat.org fund-raising emails is a riot. h/t JVolvo. Watch it here:
