This is brutal stuff. Denver police officers are under investigation after they beat a man during an alleged "drug-use stop" and then flipped a 7-months-pregnant woman on her stomach and face. Initially, it was business as usual for the police force because they thought they got rid of some key evidence:
The witness, identified as Levi Frasier, told Fox 31 that police seized his tablet once they realized he was recording the beating, telling him that if he refused to give up the device they would do it “the hard way.” When it was returned, the video was gone.
Luckily, Frasier was able to recover the 55-second clip of the arrest and beating because it had been stored in the cloud. Now, Frasier is sharing his story and the disturbing clip that may land the unidentified plainclothes cops and two other officers, Charles Jones IV and Christopher Evans, in hot water.
In the video you can see the officers holding down the suspect David Nelson Flores. They are yelling for him to "spit out the drugs." One of the officers proceeds to pound Mr. Flores 6 times in the face, close-fisted, so hard that his head can be
seen and heard smacking against the pavement. A very pregnant young woman comes over and can be seen getting flipped onto her belly, smacking her stomach and face.
The officer's excuse for this behavior is: 1) By trying to fracture Mr. Flores face and head the police officer was trying to stop him from swallowing evidence and something about his poor partner's arm being stuck under the suspect. 2) He thought that 25-year-old Mayra Lazos-Guerrero was going to kick him—and because he's a coward and a bully, he flipped her.
Those aren't his exact words.
Don't you worry:
Mayra Lazos-Guerrero faced charges for obstruction, drugs and child abuse because there was a child in the car when this arrest went down. Guerrero was also allegedly caught with drug paraphernalia in her purse.
Before you wonder about whether or not Ms. Lazos-Guerrero is a fit parent, etc ... just ask yourself one thing:
Is there anything these police officers have done or said that would lead you to believe ANYTHING they say?
