As was reported a few days ago by thinkingblue, Fox News Is OFF the Air and the Foul Odor of Deception has Ceased. Well, at least at Dish Network, Foux News is off the air.
For now.
It seems that Dish customer service is now being inundated by waves of shrieking Faux News addicts, probably spouting crap like Dish is a tool of Satan for preventing Her Majesty's faithful subject, Rupert Murdoch, and his oligarchical toadies minions at Fox from continuing to reassure wingnuts that they are The Chosen People.
How do I know this, you ask. My lovely wife, in our continuing effort to cut costs, just got off the phone with a Dish customer service representative (CSR). She was shopping for a cheaper alternative to our present service with DirectTV. Which Dish provided. Then she called DirectTV to cancel. To avoid the horrible disaster of having their proboscis yanked out of our meager cash flow, the DTV CSR was able to match the Dish offer, plus throw in a handful of premium channels, like HBO, for free for three months. (After three months, if we don't jump through all the hoops to cancel the premium channels to avoid a hefty hike in our monthly bill, I'll bet we'll be placing similar calls.)
So, when she called back Dish to cancel her order of just a few minutes earlier, she mentioned she felt a bit sad because she wanted to reward Dish for dropping Fox News. The Dish CSR was incredulous: they have been swamped with calls from Faux News fanatics, and my wife was the first call this CSR had taken, or had heard of, that supported eliminating Fox News from the lineup.
The Dish CSR mentioned that the dropping of Fox News is probably temporary, as there are negotiations under way between the two companies. Murdoch's minions, of course, have directed their zombie horde to call Dish and voice their displeasure, as reported by Bloomberg here, on December 21. They even set up a website, keepfoxnews.com.
Now, the dittoheads may number much less than us, but they're much more willing to jump when told to jump than we are. So, if you want to have some fun at the expense of Murdoch and Fox, take a couple minutes to contact Dish and tell them that you love having the airwaves free of the malodorous Faux News.
If you don't want to call Dish customer service, here is the email contact page for Dish.
If you do want to call Dish, the Customer Support number is (855) 318-0572.
These are found on the Dish contact page, which includes a button you can click to live chat with a Dish CSR.
Take a minute and help buck up Dish against the raging storm of wrong-wing fanatics demanding their fix of misquotes, half-truths, and outright lies.
