This is one fashion that probably won't be coming back around.

According to YesterVid, the creators of this film montage, the compilation features the oldest known film recording of New York City:

This collection of footage was taken between 1896 and 1905 and shows various places around New York City, all identifiable by location on a map.

It is pretty amazing to step back in time nearly 120 years and see the bustling streets of New York City, filled with horse-drawn carriages, long petticoat dresses, some of NYC's long-forgotten landmarks and some iconic landmarks that remain today.
