YesterVid, the creators of this film montage, the compilation features the
oldest known film recording of New York City:
This collection of footage was taken between 1896 and 1905 and shows various places around New York City, all identifiable by location on a map.
It is pretty amazing to step back in time nearly 120 years and see the bustling streets of New York City, filled with horse-drawn carriages, long petticoat dresses, some of NYC's long-forgotten landmarks and some iconic landmarks that remain today.
