Let me begin with a Clear, Concise statement: I Detest ReiNCe PReiBuS!
But, Tuesday night and all day Wednesday I was very depressed. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is a Congresswoman from Florida. She is supposed to have a full-time job. She is supposed to be representing the people in her district, and trying to be re-elected.
There is a Democratic Congresssional Campaign Committee (DCCC). Representative Ben Ray Lujan, (D- NM-1) is the Chairman of the Committee, and Ben is a very nice, collegial, well-spoken, energetic, charismatic spokesman for the DCCC. I like Ben.
But, I remember when the Democratic National Committee had a full-time Committee Chairman, and the Democratic Party was NOT losing seats in every state legislature. The Democratic Party was not losing every State Governor seat. The Democratic Party controlled the United States Senate.
I remember Howard Dean's Fifty State Strategy, and I remember when Terry McAulliffe was the Chairman during the 1990's.
I keep hearing about the Demographics will turn Texas Blue.
The Demographics are all in the Democrats in Favor.
The Democrats win when the People turn out in Presidential campaign Years.
Well, I am ready for the Democrats to start Winning, instead of Generating Excuses!
I think that Jennifer Granholme would be an Excellent Campaign Chairman. I remember that she lit up the audience during the 2012 Democratic Convention.
Let's work on that wonderful myth of the "Liberal Media!" Where are the people in New York City and Hollywood? What about Jon Stewart, John Oliver, Steve Colbert? What about enlisting some young liberal voices and fighting back against the Right Wing disinformation.
It's more than Comedy, it's becoming very, very Sad. And, I am tired of LOSING!
I am not suggesting that Jennifer Granholme is the Only Person capable of doing the Job. What I am suggesting is that Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has shown through six years of losing more than 900 State legislative seats, more governorships, the United States Senate, that she is not competent.
We need a Professional, Full-time Chairman. Howard Dean was not a Professional, but he did a great job. Terry McAulliffe was professional and he was full-time. The Democratic Party is in need of an Autopsy and a New Plan before 2016. We cannot simply rely on hoping that our Presidential ticket might bring out enough voters to restore some balance.
