With the first actual votes in the caucus and primary season just 13 days away, I thought it might be instructive to post a poll to see how persuasive the campaigning of those seeking the Democratic presidential nomination has been.
To this end, I am posting the poll below to get an idea about the percentage of people visiting Daily Kos who have changed their minds about whom to support for the nomination.
Explaining why or why not is the purpose of the comment thread, where I hope people can make their reasoning clear without kicking each other in the teeth. There’s no reason commenters can’t be honest about their own views without spewing venom over the views of others.
Let me start: I have supported Bernie Sanders in the primaries since December 7, 2014, half a year before he declared he was running. I haven’t changed my mind since.
That doesn’t mean I think he’s the perfect candidate or that I haven’t had disagreements—including serious ones—about some of his ideas, his performance or his tactics. Like the other candidates, Sanders has strengths and weaknesses. But my differences with him have not come close to convincing me that I should shift my preference or stop sending a small financial donation to his campaign each month.
What about you? If you are comfortable doing so, please let us know which state you will be voting in.
