April 13, tomorrow, is the White House Science Fair! Here’s a quote from President Obama about the annual science fair.
As a society, we have to celebrate outstanding work by young people in science at least as much as we do Super Bowl winners. Because superstar biologists and engineers and rocket scientists and robot-builders… they’re what’s going to transform our society. They’re the folks who are going to come up with cures for diseases and new sources of energy, and help us build healthier, more successful societies.
Hear, hear. In step with this initiative, Obama is hoping to add more science publicity to the event by guest-hosting on the science channel this week. Obama will host the Science Presents News segments all week.
As the White House prepares to welcome some of the brightest minds for the White House Science Fair later this week, the President will provide primetime science-focused updates at 9pm ET/PT tonight through Friday on Science Channel (also available online).
