Way to go, idiots:
The above screen grab isn’t even the worst one. It gets sooooo much worse...
The video shows someone swinging what appears to be a shopping bag containing something heavy, then flashes forward to show the side of the man’s head bleeding and his shirt spattered with blood.
Wait, you’re thinking “But see? They said the video flashes forward – EDITED!!” No, the whole video is included, and it’s damning. In fact, read this reporter’s entire feed from yesterday. The whole thing should embarrass all of us: twitter.com/…
Rioting, sucker-punching people, egg-throwing, destroying property. Anyone proud of this? I’m not.
By all means, gather, yell & scream. When your drunk uncle starts up this coming 4th of July weekend, get in his face, confront him with facts, confront him with all the stupid shit that Trump has said. If you need guidance, it was just yesterday that the presumptive Democratic nominee conducted a master class on how to do exactly that.
Here’s what we can’t – ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT – do, though. We can’t incite violence. We can’t hurt people. Not just because it’s wrong, but because the second we cross that line, we’re no better than the knuckle-draggers we’ve been watching beat people up at Trump rallies for months now.
We can scream that this is only one, unfortunate occasion until we’re blue in the face. This isn’t a sporting match, though, where somebody counts up the number of attacks from each side and declares the less violent group to be the champions of civility. We have a media & punditry that’s absolutely desperate to draw false equivalences between our side and Trump’s GOP. This is exactly the kind of thing that Fox, CNN and all the Sunday pundits will use to make that bullshit point.

Quick note: I used the line “By all means, gather, yell, scream at Trumps’ supporters”. This was by no means meant to encourage anyone to single out or intimidate members of the opposing view point. A couple of commenters had taken issue and they’re right. It was a poor choice of words on my part and I’ve edited the text accordingly.
