Donald Trump has NOT been elected President of the United States. The Electoral College will vote in December and if Trump gets 270 votes he will become president. Trump currently has 290 likely delegates, many of which have the power to vote against him. There are enough Mormon Republican delegates in the Electoral College to send the election to the House of Representatives and deprive Trump of the presidency.
Mormons make up a disproportionate percentage of Republican leadership, we can assume that fact also holds true in the Electoral College. Mormons may have as many as 75 votes in the Electoral College, only 21 need to change their vote and write in a third candidate to deprive Trump of the presidency. The names of the top 3 vote-getters will be sent to the Republican House where each state gets 1 vote to determine who will be the next president.
Trump knows this and that’s why he’s willing to give Mitt Romney everything he wants. If the leader of the LDS can’t abide by a Donald Trump presidency, he can advise members of the LDS to vote accordingly. Mormons are at risk of being expelled from the Church if they violate such an order.
Mitt Romney and Donald Trump are meeting as I write this. The election of 2016 will hinge on the outcome of this meeting. If Romney accepts the offer of Secretary of State, the LDS will fall in line with Trump and this issue will be resolved. If Mormons can’t accept Donald Trump as president, expect a surprise in December.
