Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D. CA):
Less than ten months. That is how much time is left before President Obama and I leave office -- and we both owe it to the people we represent to do our jobs every day for the rest of our terms.
The president did his job -- he nominated Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court.
I am doing my job -- I will meet with Judge Garland, review his record, and fight to ensure that he gets a hearing and a vote.
But, when asked to do their jobs, the Republicans in the Senate are still saying NO -- no confirmation, no vote, no hearings, and no even to a meeting for most of them.
Well, we can say NO to the GOP this November by taking back the Senate. Just look at three key races in Illinois, Missouri, and Pennsylvania, where we have great Democratic challengers who can beat the Republican incumbents -- if we all step up now.
Contribute $50, $75, or more to these three races today -- and show the Republican majority what it means to do your job!
Tammy Duckworth is running against Republican incumbent Mark Kirk in Illinois and is such an inspirational fighter for women, veterans, and middle-class families. She would be only the second Asian-American woman to ever serve in the U.S. Senate.
Jason Kander is our great candidate in Missouri running against Senator Roy Blunt -- one of many Republican senators who refuses to consider (or even meet with!) President Obama's nominee to the Supreme Court.
Katie McGinty is running in Pennsylvania to replace Senator Pat Toomey, yet another Republican Senator who is against even holding hearings on Judge Garland. Katie would be the first ever woman elected to the U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania!
Let's get to work: Contribute $50, $75, or more today in these key races!
The Republican majority refuses to do its job. Well, we can do our job here at PAC for a Change and defeat them!
In Friendship,
Barbara Boxer
U.S. Senator
