Singleton's mother has not ruled out the fact that foul play maybe involved in Ryan's death, but to date they are unaware of a possible motive. As reported, the trip to Las Vegas this was the last time anyone would hear from him (Ryan). While the autopsy report has not been released, law enforcement officials reported the horrible details to Iris Flowers, she said, the incident has long left her to speculate about her son's fate to this day. Police believe the organs were likely taken from the body by scavenging animals, but Singleton's family and friends remain suspicious about what actually happened to Ryan. Nancy Scheper-Hughes, a medical anthropologist and professor at the University of California, Berkeley, in a interview with Fox News, said "it is 'highly unlikely' that Singleton was killed so his organs could be harvested."
Many questions remain unanswered
Finally, given Singleton's sexual orientation, many wonder, if the openly-gay man could have been the victim of a hate crime. Ryan allegedly was involved in a turbulent short lived gay marriage to a man that he met in New York while perusing his dreams for modeling and acting. For family members it seemed like Ryan was running for his life.” Four months prior to Ryan's death he moved back to Atlanta due to being unhappy with the marriage. As the months passed in Atlanta, and Ryan was then working as a certified life guard, in the best of shape and starting to rebuild his life again, without his estranged husband. Strangely, according to reports-the day before Ryan was determined missing at around 10:00am, her son-in-law called her and asked if Ryan was there with her? He repeated the question with more intensity in his voice. He said, “Mom, is Ryan physically there with you? I heard people laughing in the background when I spoke to Ryan a minute ago.” Iris answered, “No he’s not. He’s in California .” Iris says the next words she heard will now haunt her forever. His husband said, “Oh no, Mom, he could be in danger out there.” Iris Flowers later recalled, that she never really understood the purpose of the call.
Overall, The San Bernadino Police Department have not been receptive at all in giving Iris Flowers any information about the death of Ryan. Also not assisting Mrs. Flowers in her quest for the truth about what happened to Ryan is his estranged husband, who has virtually been missing in action.
Many questions remain unanswered for example; was Singleton the victim of a black market organ theft group? or was Ryan- the victim of an abduction and murder plot- with his body dumped in a hot Mojave Desert for wild animals to dismember? In any case they family still want answers to the circumstances of Ryan's murder. Please help them!
