Republican favorability ratings look terrible nowadays. The party as a whole has a net favorability rating of -14%. That’s really quite shoddy, but meaningless without context. Democrats don’t celebrate just yet, your favorability ratings don’t look much better at -10%.
If being a Democrat out on the street is tough, imagine being Nancy Pelosi, who has a net favorability rating of -21%. That’s much worse than her Republican counterpart, Paul Ryan, who’s at -3%. Good news for them is that 20% of Americans are undecided (probably don’t know who they are).
Chuck Schumer is a bit better at -8% (if you can call it that), but then again 36% of Americans don’t seem to know who he is or haven’t made up their minds about him. In his defense, he’s doing better than his Republican counterpart, Mitch McConnell, who’s at -17% (34% of us don’t know who he is either). What this tells me is that Americans really don’t care about the Senate at all.
Heck, Donald Trump is viewed more favorably than 75% of the Senate/House leaders, his favorability rating is -6%.
Mike Pence does even better than Trump. His net favorability is +3%! More people like him than dislike him, that’s like getting an A if you’re a politician in 2017.
But if Mike Pence gets an A, then Obama should get an A+, his net favorability is +17.5%. Double digits people!
That’s from a month ago though. I’m curious about the 3.5% of respondents who still haven’t decided whether or not they like Obama. I want to know where they live and how one can get away from politics so holistically. I bet that’s good for your health.
Oh, and there’s one other politician who’s in double digits, he’s doing even better than Obama by this metric. Bernie’s favorability rating is +20.2%. That’s an A+ too.
