Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin’s (D. WI) re-election campaign:
I was in Neshkoro, WI this month at one of our grassroots barbecues, when a good Samaritan pulled me aside.
She told me there was a man named Robert sitting on the sidewalk, and very upset that he had missed the event. On his way, one of his legs stopped cooperating, which happens sometimes when you’re 86.
Well, that just wasn’t going to do, so I immediately jogged down the block to go find him.
Sure enough, there was Robert.
I sat down, put my arm around him, and before I could even introduce myself he turned to me with tears in his eyes and said, “What’s going to happen to Medicaid?”
We sat under the Wisconsin sky, and I told him what I’ll tell you — I’m going to do everything I can to make health care more affordable and more accessible. And that means fighting the GOP repeal effort every step of the way.
Mitch McConnell has scheduled the vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act tomorrow. I’m not going to stop speaking out until it’s dead once and for all. Join me by signing here.
It’s not just Robert — Americans are terrified of what the GOP is going to do to health care. I hear it day-in and day-out.
At this point they’ve proposed so many scary “plans,” all of which would result in millions losing coverage and skyrocketing premiums. And they’ve all been wrong for hardworking families.
From 86 year-old Robert to 2 year-old Maren and everyone in between, Americans need stable health care coverage. I’m fighting to do the right thing for our families, but I need you with me.
Put your name down to reject repeal once and for all!
Thanks,
Tammy
