AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka and colleague Thea Lee join Kenneth Frazier, chairman and CEO of Merck, Kevin Plank, the CEO of Under Armour, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, and Scott Paul of the Alliance for American Manufacturing in leaving Trump's Council on Manufacturing.
That was his immediate reaction to the absolutely bonkers and horrifying press availability from Trump during which he equated Robert E. Lee and George Washington, called the Tiki-torching bearing neo-Nazis “very fine people” and more than doubled down on his disastrous statement from Saturday in which he refused to condemn the white nationalist Nazis who terrorized Charlottesville, Virginia, last weekend.
So, yeah, leaving his council is probably the smart—not the mention moral—thing to do. What’s taking the rest of them so long?
