Received this e-mail today from the Progressive Change Campaign Committee:
See Rachel Maddow on Friday night? She highlighted that Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State Brian Kemp -- running against Stacey Abrams for Governor -- was already being sued by the NAACP for removing over half a million people from the voter rolls.
Now, the NAACP has filed another lawsuit. The reason? Kemp has frozen over 50,000 voter registrations, more than 70% of them from African-Americans.
This is voter suppression, plain and simple.
Chip in $3 now to help Stacey Abrams and Georgia Democrats challenge extremist Republicans -- and defeat them in 2018!
The race is incredibly close, and the latest poll shows Kemp with a one-point lead.
Stacey Abrams has been surging in the polls and building a powerful movement across Georgia. This follows years of work as an activist leader, where she registered more than 200,000 voters of color!
Kemp should not preside over his own election – and Stacey Abrams has called on him to resign as Secretary of State.
On the donate page, you can also donate to the Attorney General candidate in Georgia. As groups like the NAACP sue the state, the Attorney General will have a LOT of power to settle these cases in a good or bad way.
In order to re-enfranchise voters, Stacey Abrams will need a strong partner as Attorney General, so please chip in on both their campaigns.
Thanks for being a bold progressive.
