Michael McDonald of the Election Project has projected national turnout at 111.5 million, the first midterm in US history to exceed 100 million votes. The New York Times is currently projecting that the Dems will win the national popular vote by 9.2 percent. While these estimates may change slightly, it now looks like the Dems have won the national popular vote by 10,258,000 ( 111,000,000 * 9.2% ). This is truly a stunning and unprecedented success.
Congratulations to all who worked so hard on this effort.
This morning, take a breath, then keep going.
