Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with readers of Daily Kos who aren’t throwing pies at one another.Drop by and tell us about your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper. Newcomers may notice that many who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.
I’ve been thinking about sharing some of my late father’s war stories here — I found a bundle of his letters from Korea when Ann and I moved here and opened his military trunk. And I have a few he typed as emails to friends in his last year or two, memories of flying B-24s in WWII and F-86s in Korea. I want to share them because I am so angered by the Occupant’s blindness to history and ignorance of what members of the military go through.
But I was trying to get a picture loaded and haven’t had any success yet. And I’ve run out of time! So come in, share your day and your plans for the weekend.
I swear I’ll get some war stories together for next time. Promise!
