This race isn’t until 2019 but I wanted to still bring this up. Mason-Dixon polling released it’s latest Mississippi poll today and there’s some encouraging news for us next year:
The Mason-Dixon poll, which was released Tuesday, shows Democratic Attorney General Jim Hood with a slight lead over Republican Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves.
Statewide, 44 percent of voters polled support Hood, while 39 percent back Reeves and 17 percent are undecided, according to the data.
The results are similar to a poll released in December. The new poll was conducted April 12-14 via phone interviews of 625 registered Mississippi voters.

Along with Louisiana and Kentucky, Mississippi will be a big Governor race to watch next year. Especially if Hood makes it official. Stay tuned.
