In a new CNN/SSRS poll, half of Americans now support removing Donald Trump from office through impeachment. That is a new high. As usual, opinions are divided on party lines, with Republicans supporting Trump doing crimes by a nearly nine in ten margin because Republicanism is at this point an organized crime ring with a national convention attached.
The poll was taken before Ambassador William Taylor testified to Congress that Trump indeed explicitly linked his hold on U.S. military aid to Ukraine to a requirement that the Ukrainian president publicly "go to a microphone and say he is opening investigations of Biden and 2016 election interference." It is almost certain that those statements, once widely reported, will further tip public opinion toward impeachment and removal.
