The May Daily Kos/Civiqs poll is out!
This nationwide survey of 1,650 registered voters was commissioned through Civiqs and was conducted online from May 12-14.
Hot top lines include:
- Both Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden are leading Donald Trump in head-to-head matchups, 48-45% and 48-44%, respectively.
-
54% of Americans believe the United States should remain in the Paris Agreement on climate change.
-
54% of Americans oppose the courts striking down the Affordable Care Act.
-
55% of Americans disapprove of how Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is handling her job.
Other issues surveyed include Attorney General William Barr’s handling of the Mueller investigation and Fox News viewership.
The best antidote to hot takes on current events is hard data, and the new Daily Kos/Civiqs poll provides real numbers to measure public sentiment toward key issues, leaders, and more. May’s research not only reveals the extent to which the public trusts special counsel Robert Mueller over Barr to be honest about possible Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, but it also reinforces the fact that frequent Fox News viewers are deeply disconnected from mainstream Americans when it comes to issues related to the Mueller investigation. While 48% of all Americans believe Barr is more interested in protecting Trump than in enforcing the law, only 5% of faithful Fox viewers think this is the case. And while Americans have far more trust in Mueller than Barr to be honest about possible Russian interference in our elections (48-28%), frequent Fox viewers actually trust Barr over Mueller (65-4%).
