Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share a virtual kitchen table with other readers of Daily Kos who aren’t throwing pies at one another. Drop by to talk about music, your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper…. Newcomers may notice that many who post in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table and hope to make some new friends as well.
Please do not attack Democratic candidates or drag primary fights into our community.
Hope everyone is weathering the time of pandemic without going stir crazy. All seems quiet here — but our State Rep. Tina Kotek has been sending regular updates about the situation in Oregon and decisions that have been taken by the Governor. Two days ago, her task force on COVID19 decided to make a 250 bed hospital at the State Fairgrounds for patients suffering from the virus. It was due to be completed today. They are not messing around…. Every effort is being made to preserve protective gear for health care workers caring for the victims of the virus — so no non- emergency medical, dental, or veterinary medicine is happening at this time in Oregon.
I’ve been following the daily “lock down” diary of a woman in Italy on the Board Game Geek website, Our Life In Lock Down. She paints a picture of what we are trying to avoid by flattening the curve of infection. As of today, there is a death every two minutes from COVID19 in Italy. It is truly awful.
I have sewing to do and have otherwise kept entertained with books, tv, boardgames, and talking with friends. There is a new season of Ugly Delicious on Netflix — highly recommended.
Please come in, be comfortable and share your day. How are you keeping busy? This is an open thread.
