Many of us have written diaries here about the Coronavirus, how communities can prepare for it, what personal precautions to take, the drugs and vaccines being developed to fight it and some of the major steps being taken by countries to arrest the spread of the virus.
Here we look at a few examples of music and dance in these trying times of Coronavirus. Most of these music videos are aimed at using music and humor to educate the public in how to deal with the virus, how to practice personal hygiene, how to stay mentally strong and how to support others. Some are actual examples of videos from hospitals and streets meant to calm nerves of those affected, of those fearful of getting infected and of those who provide healthcare in trying conditions.
This is not a diary about all that is wrong with the world and in particular the U.S. in dealing with this crisis. This is not a diary about the heroic efforts of medical professionals and scientists, many of them putting their health and lives on the front to help others. This is a diary of about the small things people are doing to educate each other, to help each other, and to bring a few moments of joy in these stressful times of Coronavirus, using music and culture as a medium.
"Jealous Coronavirus" is a music video released by the Vietnamese Health Dept. Ghen means jealous. Cô Vy appears to be a word play on Covid. Cô means lady. Vy is a common Vietnamese name. The video is portraying the virus as someone who's trying to come between a couple. At the beginning of the video the couple was fighting and at the end they came together.
'Ghen Cô Vy' is creation of the Vietnamese Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health, in collaboration with musicians Khac Hung, Min, and Erik.
Through this project, we aim to empower and strengthen trust in the community, so that we can join hands to combat COVID-19 (aka nCoV-2019). In this critical moment of fighting the virus, we hope the song will ignite our spirits and reduce stress for the frontline fighters of this war: the team of experts, physicians, health workers and millions of other workers who are in the frontline of exposure and daily struggle with this disease.
Let our community take the initiative in implementing preventive habits as recommended by health experts, and let us spread goodness and kindness to win the disease together.

Another dance performance about hand-washing. Not sure where this is from.
This is a cute and funny routine expressing the frustration we all feel for being told repeatedly to wash our hands and to avoid touching. But it ends with the inevitable message.
Kathy Mak, an actress and dancer from Hong Kong, has used her experiences during the coronavirus outbreak to come up with a parody of the Natalie Imbruglia song Torn. Mak’s version with a twist about hygiene fears has amused crowds in entertainment venues across the city and an online hit with viewers around the world. “I thought that if I’m feeling this way, many other people would be too,” she said, explaining that she hopes the song will offer some relief amid a stressful situation. “In a way, it’s been kind of a coping mechanism.
Music in a hospital in Iran — to sooth nerves of patients and caregivers -
This dance routine I think is meant to keep the spirits up of the weary medical staff. For those who may think this looks tacky, imagine the stress on the hospital staff and think of what you would do to keep morale up and build camaraderie and trust. Music and dance is in the blood of many of these cultures. Heck, we spent millions on team building and trust building seminars ourselves.

If you are a Biden supporter, give a hug or two to Bernie supporters and vice-versa.
Also, let’s share these videos with others, especially those in the younger generation.
And let’s keep up with our own sharing of information, news and helpful tips on this site.
