Proving once again that there is no crisis he can’t turn into a wedge issue, no national trauma he won’t use in an attempt to turn American against American, POTUS squeezed out the first turd of his Friday dump with a tweet attack on Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.
“A total lack of leadership.” Trump’s tiny fingers poked out. “Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard and get the job done right…”
Wasn’t it just three days ago that American COVID-19 fatalities surpassed 100,000? Tens of thousands of those victims would still be breathing had this president not been so pathetically inept. As the toll reached that tragic, shameful milestone, where was he? Showing compassion? Sharing the nation’s pain? Giving comfort and succor to the grieving? No, Donny was out on the golf course, waddling his fat ass after a tiny, dimpled ball.
As is the pattern of a narcissist incapable of human empathy, Trump is projecting his own failings onto another political figure.
In this morning’s news conference, Frey’s spontaneous response to the president’s attack was as somber as it was direct:
“Well, let me say this… Weakness is refusing to take responsibility for your own actions. Weakness is pointing a finger at somebody else in the time of crisis.”
Then, the Minneapolis Mayor gave Trump a lesson in what real leadership sounds like…
“Donald Trump knows nothing about the strength of Minneapolis. We are strong as hell. Is this a difficult time period? Yes! But you’d better be damn sure we’re gonna get through this.”
It should be noted that the “Radical Left” Mayor refused to wade into the tribal swamp with the Divider in Chief.
