The Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM) in Hood River, Oregon, has on display more than 100 antique airplanes. Shown below are some of the 1930-1931 airplanes which are on display. The drip pans under most of the planes indicate that this is a functioning aircraft.
1930 Long Henderson Longster III
1930 Davis D-1-K
This airplane has a cruising speed of 105 MPH and a top speed of 127 MPH. A total of 11 of these airplanes were built. The engine is a 100 horsepower Kinner K-5.
1930 Laird LC-1B-300
E. M. “Matty” Laird first introduced the Laird airplanes in 1926. The LC-1B-300, of which a total of four were built, is powered by a 330 horsepower Wright J-6-9 engine. This airplane has a cruising speed of 120 MPH and a top speed of 150 MPH.
1930 Fleet Model 7
This airplane has a cruising speed of 110 MPH and a top speed of 165 MPH. A total of about 30 of these airplanes were built. The engine is a 175 horsepower Warner Scarab.
1931 Franklin Sport 90
This airplane has a cruising speed of 95 MPH and a top speed of 115 MPH. Only 6 of these airplanes were built. The engine is a 90 horsepower Lamber R-266.
1931 Spartan C2-60
This airplane has a cruising speed of 81 MPH and a top speed of 93 MPH. A total of 16 of these airplanes were built. The engine is a 55 horsepower Jacobs L-3.
1931 American Eaglecraft Eaglet B-31
This airplane has a cruising speed of 75 MPH and a top speed of 90 MPH. A total of 9 of these airplanes were built. The engine is a 45 horsepower Szeckley SR-3.
1931 Buhl LA-1 Bull Pup
This airplane has a cruising speed of 70 MPH and a top speed of 95 MPH. Approximately 100 of these airplanes were built. The engine is a 45 horsepower Szeckley SR-3.
