Data for Progress has just released polling results for Arizona, Iowa, Maine and North Carolina. In all 4, they have Democrats in the lead.
Two races elsewhere are tighter. In Iowa, Democrat Theresa Greenfield is earning 45% of the vote to Republican Sen. Joni Ernst’s 43%. And in Maine, Democratic House Speaker Sara Gideon is leading now with 48% of the vote to 45% for Republican Sen. Susan Collins.
Now, this is data for progress, which is a known liberal group, so it’s possible we should take these results with a grain of salt. Also, the poll appears to have been done via web or text to web.
Between July 25 and August 2, Data for Progress conducted a poll of likely voters in four states--Arizona, North Carolina, Maine, and Iowa--using both web-panels and text-to-web.The responses were weighted to be representative of likely voters by age, gender, education, race, and voting history. The survey was conducted in English.
They also had Presidential numbers too. The numbers here seem to match what other pollsters are finding in those states:
In Arizona, North Carolina, and Maine, former Vice President Joe Biden is ahead of President Donald Trump by three percentage points, four percentage points, and 10 percentage points. Trump leads Biden by one percentage point in Iowa.
AZ: 47-44 (Biden)
NC: 49-45 (Biden)
ME: 53-43 (Biden)
IA: 46-45 (Trump)
As a reminder, the only “must win” state of that group is Maine, and Biden is up by 10. If he is winning ¾, and the 4th he is basically tied, Biden is (crossing fingers/knock on wood) in ok shape.
