Now that Pelosi and others are vigorously calling for impeachment, it would be good to know how quickly things could theoretically proceed.
A serious question to anyone out there who is well versed in U.S. House procedure (because I certainly am not). What are the mandatory steps required before an impeachment vote can be held in the House, and what is the quickest possible time frame in which they could be completed?
Edit — I’m thinking in terms of real “outside the box” fast-pathing, not business as usual. Articles have already been drafted, if all wordsmithing, debate, etc. were to bypassed wherever is is not mandated, is there anything that prevents it from being voted upon today? I’m also only talking about a House vote, I realize Senate conviction is a larger battle and timeframe.
