Here we go again:
Number 1:
As I was listening, carefully, to this, I noticed two voices, for about half the song, then Elvis, alone, for the other parts. I wonder who provided that other voice? Was this recorded before overdubbing was a thing? Because if it was in the overdubbing era, that might have been Elvis, singing with Elvis. Listen, and see what you think. Might have been a woman’s voice, not overdubbing.
Next:
Very nice. Very smooth. Easy listening, with a little jazz, and whistling. (?!)
Next:
Now, if you feel like you have had enough of this song, less than halfway through, I agree with you. Hit pause, and move on, to the next:
This one is interesting.
The guitar part is truly well done, and the music is well written.
But the vocal, the singing, is a little less than the standards I prefer.
Strange thing is, Mr. Hunter, in this recording, sounds like me, in my opinion. I am not a professional singer, but I truly think I could sing this song, at a karaoke bar, and sound very similar to this. I am saying: this level of singing, is okay, but don’t quit your day job.
What do you think?
Next:
Wow. Truly outstanding work, on the saxophone. I had to listen to that one, all the way to the end, and then start it over. Outstanding.
Next:
My favorite part of this song, is the low notes. I like that. Most songs that have a dramatic part, they use a high note, but this song, no, it’s the low note, that gets the punch.
Next:
The song is okay, but the best part of this video, is the acting skills of the actress, doing the melodrama, to go with the song. He keeps putting his hands on her, and she refuses, every time. (Until the very end.)
Next:
Okay, this is the same song, as the one at number 4. But I feel that Sonny James sang it clearly better than Tab Hunter. But, in this version, it seems the guitar is off key? I am getting burned out, on this song!
Next:
Seems that Elvis, and his fans, were bored with the song. They just wanted the sexy dance moves, during the guitar solo. Notice the camera showed us the guitar, when the fans were screaming. The dance moves were too sexy, for broadcast on TV, back in those days. Right?
Next:
Such a happy song.
The voice of Perry Como reminds me of the voice of Dean Martin. But, I like the voice of Dean Martin, a little better.
Well, that was the top ten. Now, time for me to pick out a few more songs, from the top 50.
Wow. That was so much better, than any of the songs in the top ten.
So well written, and she sang it so clearly, truly precise, and clear, and wonderful.
Wow.
Such a powerful vocal performance. Very different, from the other pop tunes.
Now, this song is, simply, the central anthem of rock and roll:
American History and practical math,
studyin’ hard and hopin’ to pass.
(after school)
Drop the coin right into the slot,
you gotta hear somethin’ that’s really hot.
(later)
Hail, hail, rock and roll!
(and)
Long live rock and roll!
I actually thought the title to this was, “Hail, Hail, Rock and Roll.”
Wow. This one is even better than Tammy. The best song in this diary. Man! I cannot get enough of this song.
Most of the artists of this era, of course, are dead and gone by now.
But wait:

Okay, and Jimmy Carter is also still alive, at the age of 98. But, Johnny Mathis, at 87, is no longer active, in music, right?
Oh, but he is!
He is still touring!

Well, I will end on this note.
Tell me what you think, about the songs, and what they truly do, for you. After all, that is the point, for the songs to reach you, and entertain you, in some which way, a little, or a lot.
So, tell me how this journey has made you feel, today.
Hugs.
