Episode #73 of the Countdown podcast is up.
A-Block (1:28) SPECIAL COMMENT
- There WAS a Red Wave: A wave goodbye to your tsunami. Sanity got up off the mat. We beat the undead zombies with some well placed shovels. Fetterman defeated Oz. Free Crudites for EVERYONE. This could turn out to be the BEST midterms for any first-term president in decades. Joe Biden just went from nomination Dark Horse, to superhero Dark Brandon. And as a bonus, regardless of who ultimately gets the House and who gets the Senate, among Republicans, Trump will get much of the blame.
Extra anecdote about vote tabulators: A few decades ago, Dad was responsible for installing vote tabulators across the state of Nebraska. (Somewhere, I have an article from the Aurora newspaper of him installing the machine in Hamilton County, with a picture of him at work.) On the election night, he sat in front of the TV with his cell phone, waiting for the inevitable “we’re having trouble” calls.
He got a total of … zero.
Everything ran smoothly.
Damn, he’s good. Maybe he should have moved down to Arizona with me?
Back to you, Keith:
B-Block
The title of that Casey Anthony series is “Where the Truth Lies”. I’m not sure that’s the direction you want to go with that.
C-Block (26:31) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL:
- 25 years since I met her and nearly as long since I went out on a date with Laura Ingraham. It was worse than you’d expect, and it was followed by a second date that was actually closer to me being kidnapped and held hostage. But I learned a valuable lesson about how — and how efficiently — “The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” actually works, that remains instructive to this day.
As Keith says: Well, that’s all the damage I can do here for now. Good morning, good afternoon, good night, and good luck.
