I have been reading, and writing, Daily Kos diaries, since 2006.
Most of the time, everything goes well,
and I am happy as a clam.
However, sometimes, others adopt habits, in the way they write diaries, and comments, habits I do not like.
Of course, I am not the boss of anyone here,
so I have no standing to say to others,
“Do it my way, or else!”
So, the most I can do, is post either comments, or, as I am doing here, a diary,
gently suggesting, gently persuading, pretty please, with sugar on top,
can I persuade a few of you, to do as I ask?
Alright, then.
This diary was inspired by the way a link was set up, in a truly great diary.
I will not say which diary, because my point is, I presume it is a common method, so, I am writing this to the few who might be persuadable, not just to that diarist, who may be too busy, to even notice this diary.
First of all, here is how I post a link:
www.eia.gov/…
And, here is how I post a quote:
Notice, I did not make a few words of my diary, into an orange word link.
I don’t even know how to do that.
I do not want to learn how to do that.
I do not like that.
I do not like orange word links, Sam-I-Am.
I do not like them here or there.
I do not like them anywhere.
Also, a separate issue:
The orange word link I clicked on, brought up that EIA website,
in the place of the Daily Kos diary,
not in a new tab.
I suppose it’s not a big deal,
none of my pet peeves in this diary, is a big deal,
but once again, I don’t even know how to make the site at the link,
replace the Daily Kos diary I am writing.
Why would I want to do that?
I want the link, in a new tab, please.
Maybe I am getting this part wrong,
maybe after I publish this, the link will work differently.
We will see.
Anyway.
About the quote.
Most of the links I see in diaries, the orange words of the diary links,
simply have no quotes, below them.
I want a quote, please.
If I only see the orange words, I am forced to click on those orange words,
to get even a little bit, of the information, at that other website.
Please, give me a quote, get me started, with something.
Now, about the diary title:
The title of this diary, is a clear example, of what I truly like to see.
I gave you so much information, about the content of this diary,
in the title,
that many folks did not even come here to read this diary,
because, they could clearly see,
that goofy old bigjac, is just trying to tell others what to do,
and who needs that?
This way, nobody will accuse me of writing a click bait title,
just to get some clicks.
By the way, I truly do not mind click bait titles.
For example, there was a passionate diary, posted recently, by a very beloved diarist,
and, because of the passion in the title,
and the reputation of the diarist,
it got to the top of the trending list,
and stayed there a while.
The title did not actually say what the diary was about,
but, as I said, the reputation of the diarist,
and the passion of the diary,
made the whole thing fine and dandy.
What I do not like, is a diary title, that has pretty much zero information,
zero passion,
and the diarist is not well known around here.
Some say, you can hover your cursor over the title,
to get the first lines of the diary,
but, that does not work,
when I use the sandwich thingy, at the top left,
and click on, “Trending” or “Recent”
There is no hovering feature there.
Anyway, to recap:
1. Please post your links, all alone, so we see, “XXX.com”
2. Please post a quote, one or more from each of your links, in a quote block, so we see:
Juicy information, from XXX.com!
3. Please post a title, telling us, in clear words, what the flying fuck your fucking diary is fucking about!
(I almost never use cuss words, but, I am just trying to entertain you!)
Thanks for reading.
