Welcome to the Street Prophets Coffee Hour, the place where politics meets up with religion, art, nature, food, and life. Come in, have a cuppa and a cookie (or three!), and join us.
Much sympathy for the people who’ve been affected by the weather, the rain and wind and tornadoes. How are you coping? I’m at the very edge so I had some rain and some strong (very strong) wind but nothing truly dangerous. My trash bin is upright again and back in place. I still haven’t located the pail I use to carry kitchen scraps to the compost, but either I’ll find it eventually or I’ll replace it. But I have nothing disastrous to talk about here. Of course, the people most severely affected will be dealing with all the clean-up and won’t likely be here today. They may even be seeking temporary shelter and sourcing basic necessities. If you were also on the periphery, or if you were in the wake but missed destruction, let us know how your area is faring.
Meanwhile, here are a few more pictures, rescued and restored. I have no idea who most of them were in real life, but I use them as inspiration for characters in my novels and novellas. Do any of them suggest a story for you, too?
Also check out this week’s Community Needs List. I’m waiting for an update from a person or two, but we had some success with Wednesday’s needs list. Thanks to everyone who participated.
