I worked a polling station Tuesday in Charlotte North Carolina for the first time. The majority of people there had worked at the same location for years (some decades). I thought it was fun when they applauded a first time voter. They said they would get 2-3 first time voters every election.
By noon they were amazed they had 5.
By 4 they had 10.
By 7:30 (poll close) they had 22.
19 women.
3 of them were 17 years old but 18 before the general election.
These people aren’t responding to landline polls. We had just shy of 600 voters at our precinct.
I told everyone one of them I interacted with- Bring your friends in November.
