For those who may be interested, what follows are the voting details on the Bills and Amendments dealing with Ukraine Aid, Taiwan Aid, Israel Aid, National Security (TikTok and other stuff) and Border Security. This includes overall voting tallies, voting tallies by Party, links to the bills and links to details on the voting tallies so you can see how each member voted or didn’t vote. The votes will be presented in chronological order (in order the votes taken). So here we go, with my 2 cents throw in from time to time.
1. H.R. 3602 - End the Border Catastrophe Act:
Not sure exactly what’s in this Bill, but it appears that it was put in the floor by Johnson to try to placate the MAGA Crazies, which of course it didn’t. So I’m sure it is total BS and full of Poison Pills. Since it didn’t go through the Rules Committee, it needed a 2/3s majority to pass, which it didn’t get. Here are the vote details:
Democrats- 5 Yes 199 No 0 Present 9 Not Voting
Republicans- 210 Yes 0 No 0 Present 8 Not Voting
Totals- 215 Yes 199 No 0 Present 17 Not Voting
FAILED (Did not achieve 2/3s majority)

So the Democrats were able to sink this POS Border Bill.

Before the final vote on this bill, there was a vote on one Republican amendment which passed by a vote of 249 to 167 with help from 43 Democrats. Not sure what’s in the amendment, but it wasn’t too bad of a poison pill since it didn’t sink the bill.
3. H.R. 8036 - Indo-Pacific [Taiwan] Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024
Making emergency supplemental appropriations for assistance for the Indo-Pacific region and for related expenses for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, and for other purposes.
I should note that I think this Bill also contains the TikTok ultimatum (requires the China controlled company to be sold to non-China buyers or face a U.S. ban). However, I don’t have time to scour the pages of text for it. Please be my guest.

As you can see Democrats out-voted Republicans on a Bill crafted by Republican leadership. Why 34 Republicans chose to vote against a Bill that is primarily pro-Taiwan and anti-China is a mystery to me.

Very pleased to see 100% of Democrats present voting to aid Ukraine. But somewhat amazingly, more Republicans voted to help the pro-Russia (pro-Putin) Dictatorship than voted to help democratic Ukraine. Ronald Reagan must be rolling over in his grave. I should also mention that there were 4 poison pill amendments offered by MAGA Republicans which were voted down, primarily by Democrats.

Looks like the vast majority of Democrats held together on this one. This was a tough call for Progressives since while this Bill provides unconditional military aid to Israel, some of which could be used in Gaza, it also provides humanitarian aid to the civilians in Gaza. So let’s not jump on Democrats whichever way they decided to vote on this Bill.
THAT’S IT! Now on to the Senate tonight.
