My wife passed away last December. She had been dealing with various medical issues for years. She quit work in 2017 and was eventually approved for SS disability. She was diagnosed with chrinic pancreatitis a couple years ago. Her pancreas eventually quit working and she needed enzymes in order to absorb anything from food. She also had a form of muscular dystrophy and last year she lost the ability to walk and needed a wheelchair. She had a good stretch and we were able to go on an Alaskan cruise in September for our 20th anniversary. However, during the cruise I noticed she was looking jaundiced. After we returned we had tests done and eventually found out she had pancreatic cancer. She was past the point where anything would help and was placed in a hospice facility, where she passed away peacefully in her sleep.
After a few weeks of not being able to do much I returned to work. Now I am preparing the house to sell. I can’t afford it on my own and it’s more house than I need. So the six of us, dogs Merida and Snickers along with cats Simon, Jack and Andrew will be moving to a smaller house before long.
How am I doing? The best answer I have come up with is better than I expected I would but not as good as I think I am. I’m hanging in there and gradually getting back into things. On a positive note my heath is good. I got burned out on politics and left this site a while ago. I’ve missed the Village and the weekend pet threads.
