A Personal Note

I just found out the son of some close family friends, along with his wife, are stationed somewhere in Iraq.

I went to church with this kid (he's a year younger than I) for years - after college he joined the diplomatic corps, met and married a fellow Foreign Service officer while stationed in Nepal.

Now she's in the Green Zone, and he's in an unknown location in the North.  

His father is a retired Army Colonel and historian, an editor of a best-selling Armed Services historical series you've probably seen at your local Barnes & Noble.

Staunch Republicans, all.  I cannot imagine what their families must be going through, jumping every time the phone rings.  

This is what happens when the President and his men & women lie.
