From the
AJC:
Georgia Secretary of State Cathy Cox filed paperwork Monday to begin a campaign for governor in 2006.
The Democrat's decision to run for governor was widely expected. Cox, a former state House member, has made her aspirations for the state's top job known, and reportedly began informing key Democratic leaders of her decision earlier this month. The papers she filed allow her to form a campaign committee and begin raising money.
The article talks about Lt. Gov. Mark Taylor already having filed. It also mentions Cox's work at updating the voting machine, mentioning her dismissal of security risks. She just will not get behind a paper trail. I likely would have supported her, but will lean towards Taylor because of her refusal to make sure we have auditable voting.
