I hate Houston traffic. I loathe Houston smog. I can't stand Houston humidity. I grew up just outside of Houston and generally consider it to be the armpit of the Gulf. But is it as bad as Iraq? Ask
Tom DeLay:
"You know, if Houston, Texas, was held to the same standard as Iraq is held to, nobody'd go to Houston, because all this reporting coming out of the local press in Houston is violence, murders, robberies, deaths on the highways," DeLay said.
I don't visit Houston very often for all the reasons I listed above. But never have I heard anything about suicide bombers taking out the skating rink in the Galleria or people getting blown up by a roadside bomb on the Katy Freeway.
Seriously, Tom. What have you been smoking?
