folkbum just made a great suggestion on Meteor's VP thread:
John Lewis of Georgia. I'd love to read more discussion of his potential as a VP pick (for any Democratic candidate). His
defense of gay marriage is world-class and forward-thinking.
Anyone know better and care to disabuse me of the wisdom of this choice?
I would add that, IMO, foreign policy credentials are
not the most important attribute for a VP in 2004. I think high moral purpose is the most important attribute. We can crush the thoroughly corrupt Republican administration with high moral purpose and some 1828-style voter turnout.
From what I've read of Lewis's biography, he would be very difficult to slime.
