There has been a whole lot of controversy surrounding the latest Star Tribune Poll. The Chair of the MN GOP called for the paper to suspend its polling and they are planning a demonstration outside the strib offices monday. So i wrote a letter to the editor about that using a few of the Gallup polls talking points. What do you folks think?
I found it very fascinating to read that Ron Eibensteiner state GOP chair called for the Star Tribune to suspend its polling. He claims that the Minnesota poll is flawed -well if he is so concerned about that perhaps he should have his henchmen storm the Gallup polling offices as well. Gallup's current poll results are an incredible 13 points off from other current polls, including the Pew Poll, Harris, IBD, and the Economist polls -- all of which show the Bush convention bounce has evaporated. Only Gallup shows Bush up by 13. Gallup has not been run by the legendary and honorable Frank Gallup for many years. They were bought by right wing Republicans, and their current CEO is on record as having given money this year to right wing causes. So for Eibensteiner to state that the Star Tribune poll is "failing Minnesota voters" he should do the same for Gallup-since by the same logic they are failing the nation's voters!
