Searching victims before they let them board buses

Did anyone else hear the report on CNN about 20 minutes ago that they are searching the victims of Hurricane Katrina before they let them board the buses at the Convention Center?

I swear I heard the reporter say they were being searched for items that looked new because they would assume they had been looted.  They are also taking alcohol away from them.

I doubt they searched the people who were stranded at the Ritz Carlton or the Hyatt.

Every time I think I can't be more outraged, I hear something sickening like this.
