This is disturbing! Maybe this is old news but first I have heard about it.
THE FDA: His official FDA biography notes that Gottlieb, 33, who got his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, did a previous stint providing policy advice at the agency, as well as at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and was a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank. What the bio omits is that his most recent job was as editor of a popular Wall Street newsletter, the Forbes/Gottlieb Medical Technology Investor, in which he offered such tips as "Three Biotech Stocks to Buy Now." In declaring Gottlieb a "noted authority" who had written more than 300 policy and medical articles, the biography neglects the fact that many of those articles criticized the FDA for being too slow to approve new drugs and too quick to issue warning letters when it suspects ones already on the market might be unsafe.

His bio omits his most recent job was as an editor of an investment newsletter? He wrote about the FDA being too slow to approve drugs and too quick to issue letters when he suspects the market might be unsafe. Now he works at the FDA. Once against this show how George Bush wanted to help out the drug companies make money and sell out American people. For a bit more revenue, he is selling out our heatlh!!
Scott Gottlieb, MD, a former FDA and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services senior official, is returning as FDA's new Deputy Commissioner for Medical and Scientific Affairs. In this position, Dr. Gottlieb will coordinate medical and scientific affairs for the Office of the Commissioner serving as senior policy advisor to the Commissioner in these areas. Dr. Gottlieb is a practicing physician who most recently worked as a Resident Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), a prominent Washington, DC-based think tank and also spent time as an American medical correspondent for the British Medical Journal.

Yep. Looks like they left out some important information to me. This is the number 2 job at the FDA! The cozy relationship between the drug companies is one that George Bush clearly supports. I have an idea. How about supporting the American people. There is more to life than money.
There are other examples of other Mike Brown's in the article. It is quite sickening but I am glad the article is out there.
