That's right, tonight is the Annual Truman dinner for the Democratic Party of Orange County, right here in the heart of Republican Central. And our keynote speaker this year is non other than Nancy Pelosi and it's driving our local wingnuts well, nutty!
My husband Gary Pritchard ran for State Senate last year and now sits on Central Committee. He actually has been part of the planning for this year's Truman Dinner. It's a huge deal for our local party because it basically sets the budget for 2010. Orange County is the ATM for the Democratic Party. Last year Barack Obama raised 2 Million in one fundraiser but because there is a perception that local candidates have little chance to win, it's hard to get money to them, so at least they can FIGHT the right wing loonies who run locally.
As it stands, Orange County has over 500,000 registered Democrats. That's more than San Francisco. We're hoping that maybe it might be time to give back a bit and that you might help the OC this year and donate to the Democratic Party of Orange County.

She has called us Tea Party Patriots/Conservatives/ and anyone that doesn't believe in her liberal ideology as "astroturf, nazis, and un-american." You can show up in your Brooks Brothers, ala Babs Boxer, but I plan on showing up in sneakers and some fleece. It's gonna be chilly as it gets dark around 5.

I anticipate anywhere from 500-1000 pp to show. Bring your bullhorns and bring your signs. Nancy needs to know that the American People do not agree with her policies such as Universal Healthcare and Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants, or Stimulus 1 (and God Forbid, Stimulus 2).
Remember, it was Nancy that promised "Pay/Go" and also said: Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package, 500 million Americans lose their jobs.

She deserves what? Protests? I don't know what they think it accomplishes except to make themselves look foolish. I'm really hoping the local Lyndon Larouche people show up. That's where you protest, not the local Trader Joe's.
So what's my point, I think, a lot of us in Orange County think that we can be Blue but we need your help. My husband Gary is attending the dinner tonight, he's going to take lots of photos and I'm going to make him post a diary tomorrow right here. It should be interesting.
But The Democratic Party of Orange County needs some support people, we need donations. Not big ones, but a little bit from a lot of you would help us turn the OC blue.
I can't help it, I have to ask.
So, want to piss those Tea party people off, Contribute so we can let them know that their plans just helped us RAISE more money to elect more Democrats in Orange County. Their tea party meant more green for our party
And no, you don't have to be a "sustaining member".
That's how Democrats show their ire, That's how I support my party, when Bernie Sanders did the right thing, I signed the petition and I gave money to his campaign. If we could just have 59 more Bernie's in the Senate, well, a girl can dream.
