Just a quick note. Earlier today Meteor Blades posted a quote from the Romney campaign:
"As our campaign has said from the outset, Mitt Romney is not going to win every contest. John McCain lost 19 states in 2008, and we expect our opponents will notch a few wins, too,"
What Romney seems to have missed is that McCain LOST THE GENERAL ELECTION!. Of those 19 states he lost in the primary, he also lost Nevada, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, Maine, Massachusetts, and Iowa in the general election. At least five of those could have been considered tossups.
The map this time is different of course, but the larger point is that the people in the states Romney lost really don't like him! And unless he can turn that around, he risks losing some of those swing states to President Obama in the General (MO, CO, IA, and maybe coming up ME, AZ, ...)
