Who is doing what to Whom?

by Arkydem

Just one man's

Now I’m just a simple country boy but I don’t see the President or the ACA as the bad guys here, it’s the shysters who were writing insurance plans that couldn’t cover a week in hospital without meeting your lifetime limit. It’s called junk insurance and I couldn’t give a better name for these kinds of policies.

Cold, Calculated and all about Mitt

by Arkydem

One man’s opinion…

Every time I see that picture of young Mitt and the lucky sperm club standing behind him with money stuffed pockets I cringe. The boys of Bain celebrating the spoils of swooping in and gutting a struggling company with no regard to the families or communities that suffered as they wage their war for money.

Sadly, that is the Bain Capital business model and the guy who created that business model and implemented it time after time was the very cold and calculated Mitt Romney.

DANGER - AT&T Mobile Phones

by Arkydem

Like millions and millions of Americans, I own a small business.  In my industry, which requires travel and constant communication with my clients and those in the field… our cell phones are a vital and critical component for our business.

A year and a half ago, we moved our cell service from Sprint to AT&T. The I-phone, texting and emailing package offered to us, we saw as a way to improve our communication in the field.

Paul & Grover's Bathtub

by Arkydem

Just one man's opinion

Here comes the “Ryan Plan”. Make no mistake, the plan if enacted will look nothing like our pre-paid insurance plan (Medicare) we’ve been paying into for most of our lives. It will move the administration of our retirement healthcare into the hands of the private insurance sector.

So, you just brokered the biggest deal you've ever brokered, publically humilated and brow beat the sitting President as you bent him over and you're not standing on your little mountian and crowing? Can't wrap my head around that!!!

I want, I need ...give me

by Arkydem

Just one man’s opinion

My grandfather, my old man, and generations before them strived to provide a better future for their kids. This is the United States of America for god sakes and that goal for our children has made this the greatest country ever.

We weren’t much different as parents, we wanted our kids to do better and have better. So when we were raising them, we made sure they had everything they needed, and in most cases everything they wanted. We tried to instill the difference between "I need" and "I want," at times a hard concept for them to perceive.

Senator Lincoln v Those People

by Arkydem

Curtis Coleman

Not much to say here, it took Thom Hartman about 5 seconds to expose his ignorance and Coleman’s willingness to use the Republican "killing the babies" as a substantive argument to be a U.S. Senator. Coleman went one step further; he compared stem cell research to Nazi experimentation on Jews. In addition, do not expect an apology. A shining example of what a Republican looks like in Arkansas.

"O" vs. Fox

by Arkydem

I want to introduce you to Timothy Dale Johnson, who on August 13th 2008 walked into the Arkansas Democratic Party’s Headquarters and shot Chairman Bill Gwatney 3 times point blank. Although the case is closed without any conclusive evidence of as to "why" my friend Chairman Gwatney was assassinated.

450,000 dead - how many more?

by Arkydem

I've been hearing this number 45K Americans lose their lives because they don't have health insurance annually for sometime now. Well, any statistician or actuary will tell you that 1% of 45 million uninsured deaths would be a statistical anomaly it should be much higher. Someone is feeding us a mighty dose of pabulum. But lets take that 45K for arguments sake.

Exposed as Ignorant – You Get Mean

by Arkydem

Ninety percent of the time here in the south, you don’t have to be the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree to get elected to anything. What you do have to be is a white male, who speaks loudly and often about your opposition to abortion, loves guns and god and hates gays.

That’s it. In fact, I’ve been involved in campaigns where not one substantive issue was ever discussed. As the Republican bombarded his Democratic opponent with "Protect Marriage", "Protect the Unborn", "Protect America" – depending upon on what hot button issue polled the best. The D was always on defense.

A Wal-Mart Model We Can Believe In

by Arkydem

As I’ve oft said, I’m just a small business entrepreneur trying to scratch out a living in the red dirt of Arkansas. The red dirt I scratch in is in the heart of Wally World a colloquialism here referring to the Bentonville based corporation of Wal-Mart, Inc.

There’s no argument here that Wal-Mart is a predatory corporation. It has gobbled up hundreds of thousands of small businesses across this nation in large part with the help of NAFTA. I still can’t believe that my beloved Bill had a hand in this smoke and mirrors "free trade" gift to corporate America.
